This selection leaves out Appleby's Cheshire but brings Appleby's Double Gloucester into the mix - an extremely versatile cheese.
Add to this the stunning soft and rich Finn, one we particularly enjoy - and you have a selection for lunch at home or to impress guests with at dinner.
1. Appleby's Smoked. 250g C UP V
Smoked and not cooked which leaves a distinctly Cheshire flavour with a gentle smoked addition, rather than smothering the cheese with smokiness.
2. Appleby's Double Gloucester. 250g C UP V
Often overshadowed by Appleby's Cheshire but is a worthy sibling - the buttery flavour is what makes this memorable.
3. Finn 200g. C UP
Cheese luxury - velvety and creamy, using full cream unpasteurised cows' milk and double cream. The rich creaminess of the oozing centre just shouts of decadence and the taste delivers with a moorish salty- sweetness - quite simply yum!
4. Fine English Bath Ovals. 150g
All-butter, large, crisp, neutral biscuits for cheese. Made by The Fine Cheese Co.
5. Gooseberry Fruits for Cheese. 113g
Sweet but with the sharp bite of gooseberry which brings out the gentle smokiness of Appleby's Smoked. Made by The Fine Cheese Co.
