Description

As the last true Cheshire cheese that is handmade using unpasteurised milk we had to create a selection with what we feel are some of the other really authentic classic territorial cheeses.
So many new cheeses are being made now in Britain which is fantastic but we feel that we must shout about these traditional greats  - as you would expect from Cheshire cheese makers!

1. Appleby's Cheshire. 250g C UP V
The last remaining Cheshire that has remained true to its traditional roots. Cheshire cheese was the first recorded cheese, mentioned in the Domesday Book
2. Appleby's Double Gloucester. 250g C UP V
Made using the evening and morning's milk, creating the 'double' combination of milk. We produce milk rich in butter fat and this richness comes through in this cheese.
3. Kirkham's Lancashire. 250g C UP
A close relation to our Cheshire cheese and this is the last Lancashire made with unpasteurised milk. A moist crumbly cheese with a slightly sharper bite than Cheshire and a real family favourite for us.
4. Montgomery's Cheddar. 250g C UP
Cheddar at its nutty best. It is made using unpasteurised milk which helps to deliver the complexity of flavour in this King of British Cheddar cheeses.
5. Fine English Oatcakes. 100g
All-butter, and all-English, oat biscuits for cheese. Made by The Fine Cheese Co.
6. Damson Fruits for Cheese. 113g
A sweet accompaniment perfect with the acidity of Appleby's Cheshire and Kirkham's Lancashire - a natural balance. Made by The Fine Cheese Co.

C  - Cows' Milk, UP  - Unpasteurised, V  - Vegetarian.
